I still remember Paquin as the little girl in 1993's "The Piano"; at just 11 years of age, she won a Best Supporting
Actress Oscar for that role. Prior to that, her only on-screen work had been in TV commercials, and she had to
beat out 5,000 applicants for the "Piano" part. Later, she starred in the acclaimed "Fly Away Home" (1996), in which
she teaches a group of geese to fly south for the winter. After that came a small part as Spanish queen Isabella in
"Amistad" (1997), and larger roles in "Hurlyburly" (1998), "She's All That" and "A Walk on the Moon" (1999). 2000
was a banner year for Paquin, with "Almost Famous", "X-Men", and "Finding Forrester". In 2002 she was in "25th Hour",
and in 2003 "X2: X-Men United". Admittedly, she's still young (and looks even younger), but she's a very pretty girl.
Her future in acting looks bright.
