Michelle Pfeiffer's small-screen debut was on "Fantasy Island", but I first saw her playing a knockout
college girl in the short-lived sitcom "Delta House" (a spin-off of the movie "Animal House"). I think I can safely
say that she's done her best work since then.
Born in Santa Ana, California, Pfeiffer was a Miss Orange County and a Miss Los Angeles. She studied
to be a court reporter before taking up acting. 1982's "Grease 2" may not have been a great movie, but it got Pfeiffer
a lot of attention and led to her role in the gangsta-fest "Scarface" (1983). As of mid-2004, she's been nominated for
3 Academy Awards and 6 Golden Globes (including a win for 1989's "The Fabulous Baker Boys"). Some of her other career
highlights have been "Ladyhawke" (1985); "The Witches of Eastwick" (1987); "Dangerous Liaisons", "Married To The Mob", and
"Tequila Sunrise" (all 1988!); "The Russia House" (1990); "Frankie and Johnny" (1991); "Love Field" and "Batman Returns" (1992);
"The Age of Innocence" (1993); "One Fine Day" (1996); and "I Am Sam" (2001).
