Sarah Michelle Gellar grew up acting in commercials and later on the soap opera "All My Children".
In 1997, the 20-year-old had her breakthrough year, appearing in "I Know What You Did Last Summer" and "Scream 2", and beginning
her run as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. "Buffy" was a mid-season replacement series that became a hit. The way I
see it, it had beautiful women, monsters, and fighting; what's not to like? The stunning, athletic Gellar was perfectly
cast in the lead. Her big-screen work has continued with "Cruel Intentions" (1999) and the "Scooby-Doo" movies.
She also lent her voice to the film "Small Soldiers" (1998).
