Actresses seem to hate being called "cute". I can understand why; it carries an implication of
being a lightweight, and could severely limit the roles offered to them. Nonetheless, how can anyone look at Alyson
Hannigan and not think that she's just adorable? She has a girl-next-door quality to her, though very few guys
are lucky enough to live next door to a girl like her.
Hannigan was born in Washington, D.C. From the age of four, she was given steady work in commercials.
Upon entering her teens, she was cast as Dan Aykroyd's daughter in "My Stepmother Is An Alien" (1988). In 1997, she
was cast as the good-hearted, geeky Willow in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", staying with the show throughout its seven-year
run. 1999 brought the hit comedy "American Pie": "And one time, at band camp..." After a beefed-up role in 2001's
"American Pie 2", Hannigan was clearly a rising star, and she was a central character in 2003's "American Wedding".
The last I heard, she was working on the English stage; her husband is English actor Alexis Denisof, a former "Buffy" co-star.
